Type A: Plug-and-Play
Type A T5 LEDs are designed to work with your existing electronic ballast. This is the fastest way to upgrade, as it requires no rewiring—simply swap the old fluorescent tube for the new LED. Note: The ballast must be compatible for the bulb to operate.
Type B: Ballast Bypass
Type B T5 LEDs require an electrician to bypass the ballast and wire the sockets directly to line voltage. This "direct-wire" method is the most reliable long-term solution, as it removes the ballast as a potential point of failure and maximizes energy savings.

T5HO vs. T5HE Equivalency
Most commercial high bays use T5HO (High Output) lamps.
