Parabolic aluminized reflector (PAR) 20 LED bulbs control light more precisely. They produce about four times the concentrated light intensity of general service A shape incandescents, and are used in recessed and track lighting. Like all light bulbs, the 20 value represents the diameter of the bulb in 1⁄8 of an inch. Therefore, a PAR 20 is 2.5 inches in diameter.
PAR20 LED bulbs are intended to be a more efficient replacement for traditional halogen equivalents. LEDs give you the ability to choose how warm or cool the light emitted from your PAR20 bulb, whereas halogens were only available in the 3000K range. They are also longer lasting bulbs that use less electricity and give off less heat as well. Aside from the multiple color temperatures available, PAR20 LED lights also have multiple beam angles to choose from, such as 15 degrees (narrow spot), 25 degrees (narrow flood), 30-40 degrees (flood), and greater than 50 degrees (wide flood). Most PAR20 light bulbs are dimmable with LED compatible dimmers, and many are even Energy Star rated, which can help your home or business qualify for rebate incentives.
PAR20 LED light bulbs are often used in display lighting and track lighting. Some even have a CRI (color rendering index) that is greater than 90, which makes them an excellent choice when used in art installation and museums.
