Commercial lighting is a type of lighting fixture that is intended to be used in business spaces such as retail stores, hospitals, offices, schools and government buildings, basically spaces that are not classified as industrial or residential. Commercial lighting fixtures is used by businesses indoors (commercial indoor lighting) and outdoors (commercial outdoor lighting).
Just like other lighting applications, commercial lighting can provide light in several different ways. Here are the two most common:
Downlighting - is when light fixtures cast light downward.
Uplighting - is when light fixtures bounce indirect light off the ceiling and back down. Some fixtures are even able to cast both downward and upward lighting.
